Three Generations. One Beauty Secret. 

For more than 40 years, one mother’s skincare ritual became something shared by the women she loved. 

It is a simple photograph. 

Three women sitting together outside on a pleasant evening. They are close, relaxed and smiling, each holding something they have come to share. 

On the left is Shauna S., who sent us the photograph. At the centre is her mother, Lynne. Beside Lynne is her granddaughter. 

A mother. A daughter. A granddaughter. 

Lynne—the grandmother at the centre of the photograph—had already been using Metrin for more than 40 years. 

Shauna wrote: 

The picture captures an evening. 

What it holds took decades. 

Long before the photograph was taken, Lynne had made Metrin part of the way she cared for her skin. 

She used it year after year, until that familiar ritual of care became something she shared with the people she loved. 

Shauna explained it this way: 

“We were lucky.” 

There is a lot inside those three words. 

Shauna was not simply telling us that her mother had recommended a skincare product. She was telling us something about her mother. 

About the kind of mom—and grandmother—Lynne is. 

She had found something she valued. She stayed with it for decades. And because it mattered to her, she shared it with the women she loved. 

Families do that. 

They pass along recipes and advice. Ways of doing things. Little rituals that become so familiar no one quite remembers when they became part of family life. 

For this family, skin care became one of those things. 

First Lynne. 

Then Shauna. 

Then another generation. 

So the photograph is more than a picture of three women holding Metrin. 

It is a family portrait shaped by years of shared care. 

A mother caring for her own skin. A daughter learning from her. A granddaughter joining them. And one small ritual connecting all three. 

After all those years, Shauna described what they share in remarkably simple terms: 

Healthy. 

Clean. 

Balanced. 

Sometimes the things that stay with us are the things that quietly continue to serve us well. 

The photograph was taken in 2020. 

Six years later, Shauna is still ordering Metrin. 

That is a trust we do not take for granted. 

For more than four decades, Metrin has been allowed a small place in this family’s life. It began with Lynne and became something she thought worth sharing with her daughter and, in time, her granddaughter. 

Shauna wrote that she and her daughter were lucky to have Lynne share her beauty secret with them. 

Looking at the three of them together, we feel fortunate too. 

Fortunate to have earned Lynne’s trust. 

Fortunate that something we make became something she wanted to share with the people she loved. 

And grateful to have become one small part of something these three women hold in common. 

A mother. 

A daughter. 

A granddaughter. 

Three generations, gathered together around something that began as one woman’s way of caring for her skin.
